The history of Peterbald begins in 1994 in Saint Petersburg under the leadership of Olga S. Mironova with the union of a male Donskoy, a breed of hairless cats discovered and selected in Rostov on the Don at the end of the 1980s. , and an Oriental cat. Olga's idea was to combine the grace and elegance of the Oriental with the peach skin of the Donskoy.
